Freed-Hardeman- 3

Henderson, TN- The Lady Pioneers left campus this afternoon to make the short trip to Henderson, TN to take on the Lady Lions of Freed-Hardeman University. CRC hosted the Lady Lions back on September, 16th in the Carter Activities Center where FHU made short work of CRC by ending the contest in three sets. CRC's trip across state lines would end the same as the Lady Lions claimed their second win over CRC this season with three sets of action. The Lions opened the match with a strong performance from behind the service line by landing 7 service aces against the Pioneer defense.CRC struggled to get their feet underneath them as they fell 25-10 in the set. In set two, CRC rallied a strong effort against the powerful Lion front. Midway through the set Jadyn Hesse dished an assist to Hannah Halverson for a Pioneer kill bringing the score to one as CRC tailed 12-11. FHU botched the next point allowing the Pioneers to tie the set, forcing a Lion time-out. When play resumed the Pioneers saw the set take a turn in their favor as Emi Elms combined with Halverson and Jillian Glasgow for back-to-back blocks, retaking the lead 16-13. This favor would be short-lived as the Lions tied the set two different times and then retook the lead 20-18, and eventually the set 25-21. CRC's biggest run of the matchup came in set three as they found themselves down 11-18 when Coach Winn called stoppage to the contest and mulled things over with her team. CRC rallied and brought the set back within grasp as they forced FHU to take a time-out now up three, 22-19 after Kinley Matlock served up an ace and Hannah Halverson produced back-to-back kills. The Pioneers would bring the score within two, 24-22, but a final kill from the Lions ended the contest, defeating CRC.

Hannah Halverson was the sole Pioneer who ended with a double-double as she led the Pioneers in kills with (11) and had (10) digs. Kinley Matlock led in digs with (15) while Jadyn Hesse and Jillian Glasgow tag teamed the assists with Hesse's (11) and Glasgow's (10). Emi Elms added (2) blocks and (6) kills in the three-set loss.
