Espanola, NM- The Lady Pioneers faced a tough, fast-paced Iowa Wesleyan offense. The Pioneers fell behind early as the Tigers opened the game with a 13-2 run to claim the lead. Two Pioneers, Hunter Gibson, and Mickayla Smith would find a shot from behind the arc keeping the game close as they ended the quarter trailing 10-18.  In quarter two, the Pioneers would struggle as they were only able to put up two buckets, one from Lindsey Browning and a jumper from Brinley Morgan. The Pioneers trailed 14-31 at the break. When play resumed the Pioneers stepped up with a defensive game as neither team would score more than 5 points until after 5 minutes had elapsed from the quarter. The Pioneers would produce 9 points as a team this quarter with Hunter Gibson grabbing the second three-ball of the game. The Pioneers saved their best for last as they rallied a 12- point quarter, but it would not be enough to cut the deficit. The Pioneers fall to the Tigers, 37-68.
