Mobley, Mo. – After her brother B.J. showed off with a double-double in his season debut for the Pioneers, Jamerria Johnson determined to record a double-double of her own, pulling down 13 rebounds to add to her 14 points in her first start of the season. It was a victorious effort for the girls in green against Central Christian (Mo.) College of the Bible 79-45.
The opening quarter was all Crowley's Ridge (7-9, 1-1 CAC), as the visitors placed a gulf between themselves and the CCCB Saints by a 29-8 margin. Travia Woodruff was a perfect 4-4 from the floor including one from 3-point land to lead the quarter with 9.
The hosting Central Christian Saints (5-9) made a comeback in the second quarter, out-scoring the Lady 'Neers 18-14 before the break.
Another close third quarter saw the Lady Pioneers keep the Saints at arm's length, holding a 60-40 lead moving to the final 10 minutes.
Crowley's Ridge held their opponents to five fourth-quarter points - the lowest quarter total the CRC defense has held their opponents to this season. In the meantime, the Lady Pioneers tallied 19 Q4 points, easily earning the 79-45 win.
Behind Johnson's double-double, Woodruff ended her night with 23 points. On the night the Lady 'Neers swatted away five Saint shots.
