Maumelle, Ark- Pioneer Golf got things rolling this past Monday, March 13th at the Central Baptist College Spring Invitational at the Country Club of Arkansas. They competed over two days for 36 holes total in the invitational. The men's team ended the play by landing 5th overall while Maddie Minyard finished 15th overall in the individual women's bracket.
Creston Sweet led the Pioneers team by shooting 159 for the invitational. Creston shaved 3 strokes off his score on day two shooting in the 70s with a 78-swing effort. Sweet birdied 4 holes over the tournament finding two each day of play. Sweet ended the Tournament tied for 11th overall.
Joseph Ramsey fished second on the team as he shot the most consistently on both days. Ramsey ended with a score of 83 on day one and 82 on day two as he dropped one swing. The Freshmen also sank four birdies but unlike Sweet, Ramsey sank three of them on day two. Ramsey finished with 165 strokes and tied for 20th overall.
Bradie Gunther wrapped up both days in the third slot for the Pioneers. Gunther lost 5 strokes on day two as he went from an 87 to an 82. Gunther sank one birdie each day and ended the contest with 169 strokes and in 24th place overall.
Andrew Lee played caboose on both days even though he had the biggest stroke difference in two days of play. The senior abandoned 7 strokes from his day one score of 90 as he ended day two with an 83. Lee totaled 173 swings landing him tied for 27th overall.
Isaac Langley also traveled with the Pioneers but only competed on day two of the Invitational. The senior shot the lowest score of the weekend for CRC as he shot a 77 for the day.
Maddie Minyard finished 15th overall in the women's division. Minyard produced a double-digit effort improvement on day two as she shaved 10 strokes off her day one score. The freshmen sank one birdie on day two, finding it early on hole 3.
