Williams Baptist- 4

Walnut Ridge, AR — A massive nine-run surge in the top of the first inning powered the Pioneers to an 11-4 victory over the Eagles in the series finale of their American Midwest Conference matchup.

CRC delivered its strongest offensive performance of the three-game series, out-hitting WBU 14-5. The Pioneers batted around in the opening frame, scoring nine runs on five hits, including two doubles and a triple, to take early control. They added two more runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a double from Jax Buttigan and an RBI single from Rilyn Coleman to cap the scoring.

The Eagles responded with all four of their runs in the second inning, fueled by a pair of home runs. However, CRC's pitching staff limited further damage and stranded 10 runners on base.

Parker Gordon earned the win on the mound, pitching 6.0 innings and allowing four runs on five hits while striking out seven. Senior Jordan Brown secured the save with 3.0 hitless innings of relief, adding one strikeout.

Coleman led the offense, going 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs. Senior Kolby Webb also drove in three runs while going 2-for-5. Juniors Landen Kizer and JP Wills, along with freshman Aiden Armstrong, each contributed two hits in the win.

Up Next: The Pioneers will host Hannibal-LaGrange University on April 17th and 18th in an AMC matchup at Pioneer Park. #GOPIONEERS
