Baseball Records 33 Hits in Weekend Series

Baseball Records 33 Hits in Weekend Series- Wil Teague, Sports Information Director, 2/14/26

Pioneer Baseball concluded their non-conference weekend series, facing two losses in games three and four against Point University and #2 Georgia Gwinnett College. For the weekend, the team recorded 33 hits and scored 16 runs over the four-game stretch.

Head Coach Spencer Adcock- "While the 0–4 weekend isn't the result we wanted, I'm incredibly proud of the grit and toughness our team showed in every game. We never backed down and competed hard against the No. 2 team in the country, as well as a very talented Point University, finishing the weekend with 33 hits. This group continues to show significant progress week to week. We're moving in the right direction and, if we stay mentally tough, we'll be well-positioned for a successful conference season. We're excited about our growth and looking forward to conference play in a few weeks."

Game Three:

Point University- 12

Crowley's Ridge- 4

Lawrenceville, GA- In the second matchup between the Skyhawks and the Pioneers, the outcome would almost be identical, with Point mustering a second round of 12 runs and the Pioneers seeing one run better than yesterday's effort, by sending 4 runs to the plate in today's game. The major difference for the Pioneers in the two contests was the doubling of offense by Crowley's Ridge, summoning 12 hits today.

Rilyn Coleman led the Pioneers, going a perfect 3-3 from the box, followed by Reece Bariola, who also collected three hits with his (3-4) with an RBI effort. Landen Kizer finished off the Pioneers multi hit group with the catcher going (2-4). Lastly, Lawson Devault led the team in RBIs as Devault drove in two with his extra-base hit. Jordan Brown suffered the loss, surrendering 8 runs (6-earned) off 7 hits with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts.

Game Four:

Georgia Gwinnett- 18

Crowley's Ridge- 5

Lawrenceville, GA- In the series finale, the #2-ranked Grizzlies bested the Pioneers by a score of 18-5, blasting their way to the win by driving in 16 RBIs. Junior JP Wills and senior Kolby Webb did the heavy lifting for the Pioneers' run support, with the duo driving in two runs each with long balls. Webb (1-4)(HR)(2RBI) went first, hitting his two-run shot in the fifth, and Wills (1-2)(HR)(2RBI) followed in the 7th with his two-run homer down the left field line. Lawson Devault used his legs to take home on a passed ball for the remaining Pioneer run. Luke Kimble took the loss, allowing 7 runs off 7 hits while walking 3 in 3.0 innings.

Up Next: The Pioneers will host Southeastern Baptist for their home opener on Friday and Saturday, February 20th and 21st, for a four-game series. #GOPIONEERS
