Pioneer Baseball finished the 2025 season full steam ahead, playing their final two games against Harris-Stowe State University, wrapping up the Pioneers' 8-game week to cap the season.

Game 3

Crowley's Ridge- 1

Harris-Stowe State University- 4

Paragould, Ark.-  In game three of the American Midwest Conference series between CRC and HSSU, the Pioneers would fall by a deficit of three runs, with the Hornets pushing 4 runs to the plate off 8 hits compared to the Pioneers' sole run off 7 team hits. The contest saw two innings of action with the Pioneers and Hornets producing all runs in back-to-back frames. Crowley's Ridge acted first, as senior Matthew Parker gave the Pioneer the lead in the bottom of the second with his RBI double, scoring junior Clay Burgess before the Hornets answered with four runs off four hits in the top of the third to regain the lead which they would go on to maintain to claim the contest. Seniors Adonis Thomas, Matthew Parker, and sophomore Brylan Honeycutt led the team with 2 for 3 performances. Thomas and Parker each recorded one extra base hit with a double. Senior Chance Arender took the loss, throwing all 7.0 innings to go the distance in his final start for the Pioneers. Arender surrendered 4 runs off 8 hits while walking 2 and striking out 7.

Game 4

Crowley's Ridge- 9

Harris-Stowe State University- 12

Paragould, Ark.- In the program's 2025 season finale, the Pioneers mustered a series-best offensive effort to close out the year, scoring a series high 9 runs off 8 hits against the Hornets. Harrowingly, CRC would still succumb to HSSU, with the visiting team seeing 12 runners to the plate off 15 hits. In the game, the Hornets gained early control out-scoring the Pioneers 5-1 through the first 3 innings before CRC's offense exploded in the bottom of the fourth, reclaiming the lead with a 7-spot, much credited to a grandslam homer from junior Clay Burgess. Chillingly, the Hornets' offense erased all Pioneer progress by tying the contest the following inning and then kept the win out of the Pioneers' grasp by outscoring CRC 4-1 in the last two innings to once more best the Pioneers. Senior Cannon Baker was the sole Pioneer with two hits, going 2 for 3 with two singles. Junior Clay Burgess led the offense, going 1-2 with a homer and 4 RBIs. Sophomore Rilyn Coleman followed, going also 1 for 2 with a triple, 2 RBIs, and 2 walks. Juniors Parker Gordon and Kade Lindgren each added a hit and RBI for the Pioneers in the final matchup of the year. Senior Jack Roney got the no-decision, with the starter allowing 5 runs (3 earned) off 5 hits while walking 2 and striking out 4 in 4.0 innings. Senior Adonis Thomas took the loss, surrendering 6 runs (5 earned) off 8 hits while striking out 1 in 2.0 innings. Senior Cannon Baker closed the game throwing the final inning, allowing 1 run off 2 hits.

The Pioneers finish the 2025 season 8-42 overall & 6-30 in the American Midwest Conference. To the graduating seniors, we wish you the best in this next chapter of your lives. To all the Pioneer fans, until next season, #GOPIONEERS
