Crowley's Ridge College - 8

Williams Baptist University- 13

Walnut Ridge, AR- In today's nine-inning contest the Pioneers summoned eight runs on an impressive twelve hits but were stiffly outgunned by the Eagles as Williams Baptist pounded out thirteen runs on nineteen hits. The Eagles took a three-run lead over CRC in the bottom of the first and held the Pioneers answerless before CRC defended themselves by reclaiming the lead with a fruitful seven-run fourth inning. In CRC's productive inning, the Pioneers scored their seven runs on seven hits along with two Eagles' errors assisting in their prosperous inning. In the top of the fourth, five consecutive hits from CRC allowed singles from Matthew Parker and Blake Wilson to match WBU's three runs before freshman Parker Gordon's double and senior Andrew Brown's single capped the offensive charge, leaving CRC ahead 7-3. WBU quickly responded to CRC's charge with a side flank in the form of a three-run homer in the bottom frame of the same inning, cutting out all wiggle room for the Pioneers. Chillingly for CRC, the Eagles continued to their run supply by adding four more runs and taking their second three-run lead of the game with a score of 10-7 at the end of the seventh. Senior Pioneer outfielder Jackson Imler added one final run to CRC's side by blasting his first homer of the year with a solo shot to left field in the top of the eighth, nevertheless, the Eagles ensured their victory by tacking on three final runs in their half of the inning en route to their 13-8 win over CRC.

CRC had three Pioneers record multiple hits in the contest as Josh Schmitt, Jackson Imler, and Matthew Parker each had two hits in the contest. Blake Wilson led in RBIs with two, Parker Gordon and Jackson Imler had the extra-base hits for CRC with Gordon's double and Imler's homer. Michael Sharp Jr. got the no-decision in the contest as the sophomore RHP gave up seven runs on thirteen hits while walking three and striking out two in 6.0 innings of work.

Up Next: CRC baseball has officially capped the month of March as their next scheduled contest will be against CBC on Tuesday, April 2nd at Pioneer Park. #GOPIONEERS
