Eagles Take Two From Pioneers

Eagles Take Two From Pioneers- Wil Teague, Sports Information Director, 3/22/24

 

CRC Baseball, who currently is on a six-game losing streak, traveled to Bethany, OK to take on the Eagles of Southwestern Christian University for a four-game series. In today's series-opening doubleheader, the Eagles would claim both contests, extending the Pioneers' down streak. 


Game One:

Crowley's Ridge- 0

Southwestern Christian- 9 

 

Bethany, OK- Southwestern Christian held the Pioneers scoreless in game one as the Eagles claimed the contest nine to nil. The Eagles' pitching staff allowed four hits from the  Pioneers' bats over the seven innings of action. Jack Roney took the loss as the RHP went the distance for the Pioneers tossing all 6.0 innings, allowing nine runs on thirteen hits. Trey Drake, Brylan Honeycutt, Andrew Brown, and James Wilson each recorded one hit in the contest. 


Game Two: 

Crowley's Ridge- 5

Southwestern Christian- 11 

 

Bethany, OK- The Eagles forced the Pioneers to see yet another loss be added to their schedule as SCU defeated CRC eleven to five in game two. Though the Pioneers scored five runs this time around, the Eagles' pitching staff bested their previous game effort by holding the Pioneers to just three hits. Andrew Brown brought in two of the Pioneers' runs with his two-hit effort and Matt Parker claimed CRC's final hit with his RBI double in the sixth. Chance Arender took the loss tossing 3.1 innings allowing eight runs on twelve hits.
