Pioneers see three honored to All-Conference Team

PARAGOULD, Ark. – With the 2022 season in the rearview mirror, Crowley's Ridge College saw three Pioneers honored with a selection to the 2022 Continental Athletic Conference Baseball All-Conference Team. Zorey Chipman was tabbed as an all-conference outfielder, while classmate Bobby Wright was chosen as an at-large honoree. Rounding off the Pioneer accolades, Jack Roney was tabbed as an Honorable Mention starting pitcher.

Chipman led both the Pioneers and the conference with an astounding .409 batting average. Chipman also reached base safely in more than half of his plate appearances, with a .518 on-base percentage. The outfielder had 38 hits and drew 20 walks.

Leading the Pioneers in nearly every other statistical category was Wright's at-large performance. Wright led the Pioneers in hits (44), doubles (11), RBIs (25), walks (32), and home runs (4). This marks the Sikeston, Missouri native's fourth selection to the AII/CAC All-Conference squad.

Earning an honorable mention was Roney's record-breaking season. The sophomore hurler broke CRC's single-season wins record with six. Roney led the men in green with 37 strikeouts while remaining in the top five of CAC's ERA list, with a .310 mark.
