SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Crowley's Ridge visited Northeast Arkansas for a marathon triple-header on Wednesday against the hosting Ecclesia (Ark.) College Royals. The Pioneers topped the hosts in the first game 9-2, before falling in game two 7-5. The teams wrapped up a day full of baseball with the Royals winning game three 5-1.

Game One

Crowley's Ridge – 9

Ecclesia – 2

The Pioneers (7-8, 0-0 CAC) got off to a good start when Bobby Wright led off the game with a two-bagger. After Trey Gossett walked, Phoenix Beal's single brought home Wright. A balk from the Ecclesia (8-10) pitcher would bring Gossett to the plate. Zorey Chipman recorded his first of three hits by singling home Beal to give the Pioneers a 3-0 lead.

Jack Roney (3-0) continued to be efficient on the bump, with 64% of his pitches finding the zone. Letting his defense do the work, Roney gave up just two runs with two strikeouts.

Wright continued to have the hot bat for the Pioneers, hitting a two-run single in the fourth inning before Kole Simms hit a sacrifice fly to put the men in green on top 6-1 in the fourth inning.

The fifth inning saw the Pioneers add three more runs, first thanks to Chipper Lamb's single bringing home a pair of runs before Simms was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Chipman was 3-3 in game one, while Lamb went 3-4. Wright and Austin Gross collected two hits each.

Game Two

Crowley's Ridge – 5

Ecclesia – 7

Once again, Crowley's Ridge (7-9, 0-0 CAC) had a big first inning, with Bobby Wright again leading off proceedings with a single. He later came home to score when Tanner Davis was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The next batter, Austin Gross, would ground out; however, a run was able to come around to score. Continuing to plead his case for a regular starting role, designated hitter Andrew Brown (1) launched his first career homer to score three, giving the Pioneers a 5-0 lead.

Zorey Chipman got the start, tossing 4 1/3 innings while giving up three runs off of five hits. Adonis Thomas (0-3) came on in relief and gave up a pair of big home runs, including a 3-run bomb in the bottom of the sixth to give the Royals (9-10) a lead they would not relinquish.

Wright tallied two of the Pioneers' four hits in the game two loss.

Game Three

Crowley's Ridge – 1

Ecclesia – 5

The Pioneers (7-10, 0-0 CAC) ran out of gas at the end of the day, managing one run in the final game. With Kaden Hargove (0-2) on the bump, the Royals (10-10) got off to a quick start with a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning.

Phoenix Beal's bases-loaded single in the top of the fifth inning plated Chipper Lamb to put the men in green on the board.

A two-run single in the bottom of the fifth put the game out of reach for CRC.

Zorey Chipman led the Pioneers with a pair of hits.
