Last week was an exciting week for our baseball program. We were blessed with the ability to renovate our baseball infield, a project that has been thought about and planned for the last two years.
The improvement included laser grading the entire infield, repositioning the bases, adjusting the mound and plate, cutting out an infield design, adding quality conditioner to the dirt, and placing new sod on the grass portion of the infield.
These repairs will help tremendously with the safety of our players, water drainage, quality of play, and overall aesthetics of the field.
We want to give a special thanks to President Ken Hoppe, Vice President for Advancement Richard Johnson, Athletic Director Paul McFadden, and Board of Trustees member Bob Ketchum for their help in this process. We also want to thank Kevin Rone and Turf Renovations for their excellent work.
The pictures that follow depict different stages throughout the renovation process. We invite you to come and check out the improvements at our Alumni/Project Hope game during the weekend of October 20-21, as well as during the upcoming 2017-2018 season. GO PIONEERS!
