PARAGOULD, AR - The Crowley's Ridge College Pioneer baseball team added two talented athletes to their roster on Friday, July 7th.
Michael Bounds from Walnut Ridge, AR and Cody Fortner from Hot Springs, AR.
Bounds was a part of an accomplished high school team as the Bobcats were Regional Champions once, District Champions three times, Conference Champions four times, and State Runner-Up once in his time at Walnut Ridge. Michael was also named All-Conference his senior year.
Head Coach Brenden Camp said, "We are excited to have Michael join us. He is a solid pitcher that I think will help us out. He has good control of his pitches and movement on each pitch that makes him very effective on the mound. Michael fills up the strike zone well and works very hard improving his overall pitching abilities. Michael will be a good pick up for us."

Fortner is a transfer from Arkansas Baptist. He redshirted his first year at Henderson State. In his sophomore year at Arkansas Baptist, the team earned Regional Runner-Up in Division 1 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCCAA). In high school, Cody was named All-Conference all four years and All-Garland County all four years.
Coach Camp added, "I believe Cody will make a great impact with our program. He is a talented outfielder with a live arm. He gets good reads on fly balls and delivers accurate throws. He is an athletic guy that will do whatever it takes to get better. On the mound I think he could be effective out of the bullpen. Cody is a player that I know will work hard and help us out."
